Lodgify vs Hostaway: channel manager strength, Hostaway pricing, and why cottage owners who want a real website usually pick differently.

If you’re weighing Lodgify vs Hostaway, you’re usually choosing a bookable website with channels attached, or a quoted PMS and channel manager aimed at property managers from two listings up. They aren’t two logos for the same job. Hostaway is a serious channel manager: direct two-way API and 2026 top partner status on Airbnb (Preferred+), Booking.com (Premier Plus) and Vrbo (Elite). Lodgify sells a bookable website with a channel manager for those same three OTAs.
Cottage owners who want a real website usually pick differently from multi-unit managers. I pick the engine that matches the public site and the channels you actually fill. If you already live in Hostaway’s ops tools and the homepage is someone else’s problem, stay. If the site is the product, Lodgify is the more honest bundle. Hostaway’s public funnel will not onboard one listing — that visitor hits a waitlist.
Positioning
Hostaway sells unified inbox, automation and a serious channel stack. Lodgify sells a bookable website with a channel manager attached. Lodgify is website-led; it is not capped at a handful of cottages. Professional and Ultimate have no published property ceiling. Hostaway targets 2–200+ listings. The bounce on your own domain can still cost more than a missing operator report. That is a website-quality argument, not a size rule.
I’m happy to sit in front of Hostaway if that’s what you already run. I’m not going to move you onto it so the software looks “more professional” while the live cottage page still cannot take a week.
Channel manager Airbnb and Vrbo
Hostaway’s public channel list is two-way API for Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo. That is not a reason to skip it in the UK — Booking.com is a first-class Hostaway connection, with Premier Plus in 2026. Lodgify covers the same three for the portfolios it sells. In the UK, Booking.com still matters more than Vrbo for most cottages. Run the channels you actually fill. Hostaway does not document Sykes, cottages.com or Hoseasons. If those agencies still fill weeks, Hostaway is the wrong pipe.
If you want the job in plain English first — two-way APIs, no iCal as the architecture — that’s channel manager for Airbnb. Once you know you need that, Hostaway vs Lodgify is about whether you have two listings to buy Hostaway, whether you will accept a quote, and whether the website is your problem.
Website
Lodgify’s website builder and widget are included. Hostaway ships a Booking Website one-pager with the subscription, and Booking Website Pro at $49/month plus 0.5% of Pro-generated bookings. Bring-your-own via the Open API is also supported. Don’t buy Hostaway just for a cottage homepage. If the live page still cannot take a week, the included one-pager will not fix that by itself. See direct booking website.
You can put a custom front on either. The usual cottage mistake is buying operator software and then discovering you still needed pages, speed, and a price on the property page.
Hostaway pricing
Hostaway pricing is operator-shaped and quoted. They publish no PMS subscription price. The only Hostaway-published cash figure is Booking Website Pro. Compare it to Lodgify pricing only after you know property count — Lodgify’s pricing page is the published ladder. A new buyer with one listing typically cannot buy Hostaway at all. From two listings they will sell, on a quote, not a card. They do not publish a per-listing rate card.
Verdict
Lodgify vs Hostaway for a holiday cottage: Lodgify when the public site is the job, and whenever you only have one listing. From two listings, Hostaway is a real quoted option if you want the ops stack and you already know Booking.com, Airbnb and Vrbo are the channels — stay on it if you already run it across a real portfolio. Guesty is the other heavy option — Lodgify vs Guesty — with Lite as a published 1–3 listing SKU. Website first, then channels, then ops software you will actually open.
